75 Wonderful, Great, Amazing Years!!

Yesterday was our awesome Granny's birthday! She turned 75!! We had a party at my moms house - and it was so fun to celebrate with Granny! We love her so much!! Here she is blowing out her candle...We only had one, so we re-lit it 75 times. Ha ha, just kidding! Once was just great!
T.J. and his girlfriend Chelsea came to celebrate with us! (Sid & his girlfriend Sammy & Wiley were also there - but I didn't get a picture of them!)
Ashley, Granny & Tood!
Ry, Aubs & Tyler!
I carved a watermelon just for fun, and I was impressed! It turned out better than I thought it would, and it was actually fun!!
We really feel so blessed to have such a great Granny! She has always done such fun things with us, like taking us camping since we were just kiddos (oh yay for flowerland!!) and letting us sleep over all the time and always making us the best pancakes ever - and loving and supporting us so much! We Love you TONS Granny!! Happy, Happy, Birthday!!

Bye Bye Bruises!

Ryan's bruises are finally starting to go away!! We took these pictures a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't believe that the bruising just kept getting worse! Even the physical therapist asked Ry if he could take a picture of the bruising!

Last week Ryan had a few more x-rays and an MRI, and we found out that he has one ligament that is completely torn, another that is partially torn and a tendon that is partially torn! Krikey!! He met with a specialist yesterday, and much to our surprise and delight, he said it is possible that his ankle can heal on it's own without surgery!! There is still the possibility that he might need surgery, but we were so happy to hear that it might be able to heal on its own!

Camping & Llamas!

It's time for family camp again! This past week we headed up to my aunt & uncles cabin! It's so fun - we always look forward to going! Here are Erica & Myke squished into our car for the drive up!
Glendon on his 4 wheeler - it had a really comfy seat & drove so smooth!
Ryan going for a ride! He had to be really careful because of his ankle, but we were glad he was able to go for a few, short rides - they are so fun!!
Scooter playing on the playground with Melody!
Getting back from a ride with Daddy! Gotta love Scooter's hair!!
My dad & our cousin Emily.
My mom riding with Glendon & Mar Mar!
Me & Scooter riding with Erica!
Myke started wearing this bandana over his face while he was driving the 4 wheelers - so he didn't get so much dust in his mouth! And I was wearing one over my head - so I said we were the bandit and the pirate!
Very, very dirty after a long ride!
I can't remember what she was saying here, but I was trying to get a picture of Mauri's face - so cute with the dirt smeared all over! She cracks us up!
Scooter, Mommy & Puppy!
We came home from the cabin on Friday, and then on Saturday me & Scooter went to the Llama fest with Erica. We invited Ry, but he said he wasn't going to go "crutching" around the Llama fest in 90 degree weather! (Truth be told, he probably wouldn't have come even if he wasn't on crutches!!). Just as we were getting there, Myke & his friend Aubrey were leaving. It was fun to see them for a few minutes!

The Llama Fest was at the Hare Krishna temple in Spanish Fork. I always like driving past this building - it's so interesting, and it makes you feel like you're suddenly transported to India, when you're really in the middle of Spanish Fork!

Here are Scooter & Erica feeding one of the llamas!
Erica, Scooter & me.
Standing by the elephant statue at the bottom of the stairs. We really had a good time, except it was SO hot! If you can see the sweat dripping off of me in these pics, I don't want to hear about it! ha ha!

Before & After...

I have been wanting to cut my hair for a long time, and I finally did it this week! I was really excited because it was long enough to do locks of love - so that was pretty cool!

Here is what my hair looked like on Sunday night...
And this is what it looks like now! I am loving it!!

Ryan's Birthday!

Ry's birthday was last Monday. He had the day off work, but didn't get to do too much because of his ankle! Dang! We had pizza, yummy cupcakes and klondike bars to celebrate that night - and it was fun to be together with everyone! Speaking of Ryan's ankle...he went to a physical therapist a couple of times last week, and they said it is a severe grade 2 ankle sprain. I seriously can't believe how badly it is bruising! Every day the bruises get worse!

The top picture was taken on Ryan's birthday, and the bruising looks pretty bad. But check out the bottom pic- taken just a few days ago!! Seriously wicked bruises!
Anywho... We love you tons Ry, and hope you had a happy day, despite your sore ankle!

Another Trip to the Zoo!

Scooter and I are really spoiled - we always have Ryan here with us! He hasn't ever had to travel for work - but this week he is in Green Bay for a few days! Since this is something totally new for us - I planned a few fun things for me & Scooter to do while it was just the two of us! Today we went to the zoo!

Here is Scooter standing outside the entrance!
He loved the giant elephant statue! In this picture he is clapping and saying "yay" while it makes funny noises!! He liked this so much that we had to go back and see it again!
Happy to be at the zoo!
The elephant statue again!
I love his grin!
Wow! This elephant is big!
Scooter is checking out the warthog - well, it's not really a warthog, it's called something else! But it looks similar to a warthog!
I thought this was so funny! One giraffe reaching over the other one's neck to get some lunch!
Scooter checkin' out the giraffes! (he just saw me put this picture on and said "A Giraffe! Oh, cute!")
The tiger was in a different spot today than it has been other times that we've gone- and you could see it really well!! Scooter really liked looking at the tiger, especially since he had one on his shirt too!
Riding the carousel! Happy boy!
Mommy & Scooter! He was a little uncertain because a stranger was taking the picture for us!
The choo-choo!
It was really hot today, so we had to get ice cream of course!
He wanted a spoon, but they didn't have any - so he made do with his finger! haha!
Yummmm!
It was pretty warm, but not totally roasting, so we had a really good time at the zoo! And it wasn't super busy, which was nice! We never had to wait to see any of the animals! And, as a really great bonus, we didn't hit any traffic on the way home! Thank goodness! Driving in Salt Lake makes me nervous enough - I don't know what we would have done in rush hour! (haha!).

A Fun 4th of July!...Well, kind of... Ok, the first half of the day was fun!

Our 4th of July started out really fun! We had a yummy brunch at our house (egg, sausage & cheese sandwiches on English muffins! Yum!). Ryan, as you can see, was happy to cook the food, and the rest of us were happy to eat it!
Scooter, Aubs & Tyler. Some day we will have a kitchen table! ha ha
After brunch we went swimming at Tyler's aunts house. It was so nice of them to invite us - and we really had a good time!

Mar Mar did a good job swimming!
Hanging out in the pool. There is even a slide - how cool is that?!
Scooter splashing Daddy!
Scooter floating with Erica.
After swimming we headed back to Nanny's house for a bbq of course! (I'm not sure it's legal to eat anything but grilled food for dinner on the 4th of July!).

Scooter loves to help Ry with the grill, or the "hot" as he calls it!
Having fun - jumping on the tramp!
Sitting down & letting Mar Mar have a turn jumping!
Go Mauri! I thought her hair looked so cool in this picture!!
Swinging and just having a good time playing in the backyard!
Mauri - coloring with chalk!
Our bbq was great and we were all having a fun time just being together. We were all standing around talking, watching the kiddos play and Ry was jumping on the tramp. We heard this noise - I'm not even sure how to describe it! But it was not a good noise - Ryan had jumped through the trampoline - not the springs but the actual middle of the trampoline!! In the few seconds it took us all to rush to the tramp, he pulled his foot back up and we could see that it was swollen and getting bigger. I kind of freaked out. It is scary when someone you love gets hurt. We were all pretty positive that his ankle was broken because by the time he could climb off the trampoline it was seriosly the size of a grapefruit! Glendon & I took him to the hospital (thank you G-man for coming with us...and for driving! And thank you Lins, Erica & Papa for taking care of Scooter while we were gone). It took a while but we were able to get x-rays and finally meet with a doctor. He said they didn't think it was broken - which was such a miralce because it was so swollen, and he has actually broken that ankle before - but really badly sprained. They wrapped it for him, gave us some pain meds & gave us the number of an orthopedic doctor just in case his ankle wasn't feeling better in a week or so. We were so grateful it wasn't broken - and that he didn't need surgery or anything because it really looked pretty awful! Here is a picture of what it looked like yesterday - and in this pic the swelling had gone down a lot!!
Ouch!!!
While we were waiting to meet with the Dr. we could hear the fireworks from the Stadium of Fire - and we kept looking at each other and saying that we needed to get out of there before the Stadium of Fire was finished and there was tons and tons of traffic!! We were pretty fortunate because we got out before most of the traffic piled up, which was very lucky!!
I guess we have to be careful what we wish for! The 5th is our anniversary, and a few days before this I had asked Ry what he wanted for our anniversary, and he said (totally joking, I'm sure): "Not to have to go to church." Well...he got his wish! ha ha. Ok, ok, and all day on the 3rd and on the 4th I kept saying I wish there was some way we could see the fireworks at Stadium of Fire...Guess I have to be careful what I wish for too! tee hee!
