Feelin' The Love!

We were so very excited when we came home a few weeks ago and found our door like this:
We loved it! We left the hearts up for a few days, and then Scooter took them down & carried them around with him (in his pocket, backpack and in his hands!) for several days after that! I wondered who made our door look so cute - and found out that it was the cute, cute girls I teach in primary! They had decorated our door for an achievement days activity! How cute is that? I love the kids in my class, & I don't know how I'm so lucky to always get the best kids!

Here is Scooter lovin' the sunshine & being outside! His sweet smile & personality make us so happy!
Our cute friend Colin gave Scooter some valentines, and boy did it ever make his day! He was super excited, and when Daddy came home that day he said: "Colin gave me a valentine! That was so nice of him!"
Valentines Day! I was trying to get a picture of Scooter eating his heart shaped toast, and he pulled this face & told me not to take a picture of him! ha ha! That's a first...usually he loves to take pictures!
Ry & Scooter gave me these beautiful flowers for Valentines Day - they are just the sweetest! And Ry made a really yummy dinner - steak, shrimp & mashed potatoes! I just love my boys so much! They are the best!

Miracle...

I love to read and often I read something and think to myself, "that is something that Everyone should read!" That is the case with this story I read a little over a week ago. I read about this family and I haven't been able to stop thinking about them. Their little boy almost drowned and it was heartbreaking to read his mother's words as they watched and waited in the hospital. But it also strengthened my faith as I read her words of hope - her words describing how they knew that faith and fear couldn't exist in them at the same time - so they were choosing faith. Her words touched my heart! And as I read through the hundreds of comments left by friends and strangers alike, my faith was strengthened even more! I read words such as: "We do not know you, but our entire family is praying for you," & "Our kids fasted for you today," & "I don't usually pray, but I'm praying for your little boy."

I couldn't help praying for that little boy and his family too. And I felt SO happy when they posted pictures of him waking up from his coma, sitting up, smiling and getting better. I feel really grateful to this family for sharing such a personal experience. It has served as a HUGE reminder for me. It has reminded me what is really important, and to savor every day with my little Scooter Boy! It has reminded me of the power of faith and prayers, and of how God really is in the details of our lives. And also, what it means to bear each others burdens. I'm so grateful that we have a Heavenly Father who is so aware of each of us, and who loves us more than we can comprehend.

Trust me when I say this is a story that Everyone should read!!

Trying not to get cabin fever!

Sometimes we come down with cabin fever in the winter months...We have a lot of fun things to do inside, but we always miss being able to go to the park and just run around outside! Scooter Boy is really into art projects (of any kind!) lately, so we color or do chalk on his easel - along with other projects!

It has also been really warm for February - so we've been able to go outside and have some fun! On this day I thought there was a little bit of snow left on this side of the yard, so I had Scooter get his snow pants on so he could play around in the snow...but when we got outside, there was no snow right here! I think there's still some on the other side of the house since it's more shaded, but we just colored with sidewalk chalk instead!
And we had a few visitors! We had so much fun watching the deer, and Scooter asks me where they are now when we go outside to play.
I love this little Sunshine! Here he is looking at the deer! ... Notice the binoculars in his hands!
Something else that has really helped us keep cabin fever at bay is a really fun website: It's called No Time for Flashcards (click here to see the site - it's great!). She has TONS of incredible art projects for kiddos! I really feel like this has been saving our sanity this winter because there are so many fun ideas that we can borrow from her & do inside!!
