Baking Bread

I think baking is so much fun, so I decided I wanted to try baking bread. On Wednesday I tried a recipe but it did not turn out - I called it "brick bread." So I tried a different recipe on Thursday and I was So happy - it was really good!! Yay! There is just something about making yummy things to eat & share with people that makes me so darn happy!

Here are some pictures of the process...

"Mom- can I have some bread yet?" Scooter playing with the "brick bread" while our yummy bread was baking.... I'm glad we could use it for something, haha! (and yes, that is a toy sticking out of the bread - just in case you're wondering!!) Don't you love his apron? I was wearing one, so he wanted one too!

Scooter - still playing with the "brick bread." Does anyone need a recipe for a great toy for an inside day?!

The yummy bread! Yay! They were shaped a little bit funny, but they tasted so good! I will just keep practicing to get the shape better!!

Finally! Enjoying the yummy bread with some honey butter! Yummmmm!

Book Club

We had book club a few weeks ago & I forgot to post about it! Even thought it's late, I had to post about this book because I love it! We read "Heir Apparant" by Vivian Vande Velde. I really, really like all of her books - they are fun and entertaining and I haven't read one yet that I didn't like. I happened upon her books when I was browsing the young adult section at the library, and I'm so glad that I did!

Going to church is a lot of work!

I guess Derek played really hard in nursery today, because he was worn out when we got home today! He was sitting in his high chair eating a piece of pizza and his head bobbed for a minute and then just leaned back against the back! It was so cute! He's never fallen asleep in his high chair before - so of course we had to snap a picture!

Scaring up some fun!

For Christmas Scooter got this monster puppet - it is really fun to play with! There are a bunch of different eyes, ears, noses, horns, etc. that you can velcro on & off to make a bunch of different monsters!
Here are some pictures of Scooter posing with the monster!

He is really loving getting his picture taken lately and makes a bunch of different faces for the camera! ( I know he looks concerned - but he was really loving it!) Oh man- I love his little smile! It makes me so happy!

Monster hugs!
Scooter thought the teeth looked pretty cool on the monster... So he decided to try them on himself!

Aubrey & Tyler

I got a new picture of Aubs & Tyler so I just wanted to post it!

So Many Prayers!

We recently found out that Derek does not have enough enamel on his teeth -and he has four cavities. He had to go on Friday to a surgical center and get the cavities filled- plus a root canal. We felt so bad for him! He was asleep for the procedure, which was good, but of course as a Mom it always makes you worry when your little kiddo has to have something like that done. All of our family told us that they would remember us in their prayers that day - and it was just amazing to me how I could feel the power of those prayers throughout the day! It just made me feel so grateful to our family for praying for us - and to Heavenly Father for letting us feel that peace & comfort!

Derek is such a little trooper and he's recovering just fine (even though they actually found out there were six cavities!! how sad!!). He has still been his happy little self and has been able to eat what he normally does! We're so, so grateful for our sweet little boy! He makes us so happy!

Congratulations!

Congratulations to my sweet sister Aubrey! She got engaged yesterday to Tyler Brockbank! We are so, so excited for them! I wanted to put a picture of the two of them on here - and I realized I only have pictures of them together from our New Years Eve party! I know I put a similar picture on here already... but oh well! :)
They are getting married in May! Again, Congratulations guys!

Almost as good as my dream!

Before we went to Missouri I went to see the Twilight movie - and I have to say that I really, really liked it! I had heard a lot of things- both good & bad- about it before we went, so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. But I really liked it! Some things were different of course- but it's always like that when they take a great book & make it into a movie!
A few nights before we went to see the movie I had a great and very interesting dream about it. As I've said before - I usually remember my dreams and they are usually quite entertaining! So in this dream, I went to the theater to see the Twilight movie. I decided to get a snack - popcorn or nachos - so I went to stand in line. The person in front of me ordered and then just left because the people were taking so long. So when I got up to the counter the worker told me I could buy what the guy in front of me had ordered for $1.00 since he just left. I said okay and I ended up getting a brown topper (ice cream) and a cup of penny candy. Yummmmm.... Then I went back into the theater and of course my ice cream melted, so I just had chocolate soup! But now for the actual movie... or actual "dream movie" I guess. At one point Bella was riding in the back of a garbage truck and Edward, in a tree above the street, cried out: "Bella!!" And at another part, people were dressed up as Buffalo! (maybe that was the other Indian tribe mentioned only briefly - so briefly you might not even remember it- in the book!!)
Anywho... it was a very entertaining dream! And I really enjoyed the movie - even without people dressed up as buffalo!

What a cutie!

Derek is really into posing for pictures lately - and we are having a blast taking lots of fun pics!

Happy New Year!

We had a really fun New Years Eve at my mom and dads house! We had lots of yummy food, played games & did karaoke! (however you spell that!!)

Ryan and Derek - playing around!
Mar Mar & Lins getting into the karaoke!
Lins, Aubrey, Tyler, Derek, Mauri, Nana & Grampa!
Lins, Aubrey & Tyler! It was so much fun to watch them sing! Lins would get really into it! And I was a wuss and didn't sing too much... I love singing! I just have "microphone-aphobia," ha ha! But I did totally sing with them on "If I had a million dollars."
Our cute, cute little boy! He & Mauri did really well - even staying up way late! They both had a lot of fun blowing cazoos and watching Grampa light fireworks! Happy New Year everybody!
