Congratulations Katelynn & Steven!

CONGRATULATIONS to Katelynn & Steven - they were married on Saturday in the Bountiful temple. We were so happy to be able to be there with them!! We are very happy for them!

Here they are cutting their cake!
Giving Auntie Katelynn a kiss. Scooter kept pointing at her and saying: "Pretty!"

So Excited!! Just coming out of the temple!! Grandma Gwynne is excited for them too!
We love getting to spend time with our family, and it was so fun to have so many people in town this past week! Ryan's mom & dad were here, of course, and Alli & James, Matt & Katie came from Washington (it was so fun to see her cute little tummy!!) and Grandma & Grandpa Gwynne & Auntie Cook & Uncle Bob came from California. We had so much fun with everyone! We missed Grandma & Grandpa Miyake though!!

A Goat Named Tiny!

Scooter loves going to the park by our house, and I have to say it is a pretty fabulous park! There is lots of equipment to play on and plenty of room to run around! There is also a field with horses right next to the park. Scooter always likes to go and see the horses, and more often than not they come over to the fence to say hello back! A few days ago we went to the park and there were three goats in the field with the horses. One of them was right up against the fence munching some grass. We were sitting by the fence looking at her for a minute, and then got up to go play. Scooter ran back to the fence and sat down and said :"Tiny! Hi Tiny!" then he waved at the goat! It was so cute! The next day we went back with Ry and the goats were still there! Ryan and I were both cracking up as Scooter ran to the fence, waved, and shouted "Tiny!" The goat in this picture is actually Tiny's cousin, (or something!) because Tiny was too far away to get a picture of her that day!

The Luck of the Irish!

We had a Wonderful St. Patricks Day! We really, really love this Holiday and enjoy celebrating it every year! Scooter & I watched "Darby O'Gil and the Little People" in the morning. That is one of my favorite movies, and Aubrey gave it to me just in time for St. Patricks Day! What a sweetie! Then Lins & Mauri came down and we went for a walk up the canyon! It was a beautiful day to be outside. Later in the evening we enjoyed a green dinner together - we had shepherds pie with green mashed potatoes on top, green jell-o, green rice krispie treats and homemade oreos with green frosting in the middle. What a great green day!

Ryan & Scooter gave me these beautiful flowers! I have the sweetest boys ever!!!
The green shepherds pie. It was SO yummy! But then again, everything Ryan cooks turns out good!!

Quarantine!

Poor Scooter had pink eye & an ear infection - not this week, but the week before. So we stayed home for most of the week so that we didn't share it with anyone else! We thought of fun things to do at home, and it snowed anyway, so we wouldn't have been able to go outside. We made homemade graham crackers & these yummy chocolate covered bananas, and we built a few tents and colored. Then, unfortunately, Ryan got sick at the end of this week! He came home on Thursday and Scooter was still sleeping & I was doing some stuff on the computer, so he layed down & fell asleep on the couch. That is very unusual for Ryan- he hardly ever takes naps, especially that late in the day. Scooter was all the way better, so later he and I went to McDonalds for a happy meal & to play on the playground, & that way Ryan could sleep for a while. We also went to my moms to hang out with her & Erica for a while. When we came home several hours later Ryan was still sleeping, and I thought to myself, he must be really sick!!

He ended up sleeping on the couch that night so that he wouldn't get me & Scooter sick. Before I went to bed I went out to make sure he was ok & to see if he needed anything. Then I went to bed. I was sleeping (dreaming like usual!) when I heard this LOUD noise that woke me up! It seriously freaked me out and for a second I couldn't figure out what it was! It was still dark outside & I was really confused as to what I had heard. My foggy mind figured out that it was the TV - and it was Blaring!! I hopped out of bed and went to the front room. "Ry," I said, " Did you turn the TV up?" Imagine my surprise when I saw only his head peeking out of a HUGE mound of blankets on the couch. He literally had seven blankets piled on top of him. "Yeah," he said, "I was trying to get your attention! I am Freezing!!! Can you get me some more blankets?!" I was still in my blurry state of mind - rather than my usual, saintly-wife state of mind, ha ha!- and I thought, you startled me awake to get more blankets?!?! I did go & get more blankets, though, and then I had a brilliant idea! (who knew my mind was capable of brililant ideas before sunrise?!?). I told Ry that I would warm up my "warm pack" for him (it's a flannel coverd pack filled with corn that you heat in the microwave and it's so warmy & toasty!). While I was warming it up Ryan told me he was sorry for waking me up. He had gotten up earlier to get more blankets (hence the huge mound on top of him!) but he was so cold he didn't want to get out from under those covers! I was a little bit more awake now, so I told him it was ok - even though that blaring TV seriously scared the crap out of me! ha ha! I felt bad for him that he was sick & freezing cold. That's another thing that rarely, rarely happens to Ryan. He is Never cold! (he told me the next day that he wonders if that is how Aubrey always feels- because she is Always cold! So Aubs, hopefully Ryan will be more sympathetic when you're at our house & you get cold!). Anywho, I gave him the warm pack and a few more blankets - and then headed back to bed.

Luckily he is starting to feel better & Scooter & I are both still healthy, so hopefully the quarantine can be over soon!! I feel like I have a major case of cabin fever & I can't wait to get outside & do something fun!

Go Ahead, Play With Your Food!

We bought a can of pringles a few nights ago because all of us really like those chips. Scooter loves to do things himself, so we let him get his own chips out of the can. A minute later he came over & pulled this cutting mat out of the cupboard and took it over to his little table. The next thing we knew... Well, the picture kind of explains it!

Yes, that's the whole can of pringles!
And this mess, the "powdered sugar snowstorm" - was actually my fault. I was sprinkling powdered sugar on something & Scooter wanted some. I didn't want him to try and get it out of the big bag, so I poured some into a bowl. But instead of putting the bowl down and holding the bag of sugar with 2 hands, I held the bowl in one hand and tried to pour the sugar with the other. Needless to say, a little too much came out! It overflowed the bowl & his whole high chair tray! Scooter wasn't too upset with my mistake, though! Also, just in case you are wondering - or if this ever happens to you-, that much powdered sugar does not vacuum up very well! A wet wipe & a trip to the washer (for the fabric part of the seat) worked best.

Another Suite Game!

Ryan was lucky enough to get tickets - from work- to another Jazz game! This time we got to sit in the Executive Suite! Wow! It started with a very yummy buffet and then we watched the game in super comfy seats! At half time they had this delicious dessert buffet. The mint cookies were so tasty! They reminded me of those brownies you get at BYU, but in cookie form! Yum! The game was probably one of the best games we've been to! The Jazz played Denver, and the first half was horrible! But they came back during the second half and they won! We had a blast!

This is a picture of our seats - it didn't turn out the best, but you get the idea!
These are the tables where you sit for dinner & dessert. We had so much fun, and Ryan said he could really get used to this! I thought so too - except that it was so fancy I was a little bit afraid I might drop a plate or something! Yikes!
Me and Ryan!

"Mar Mar... Happy!"

It was Mauri's birthday last Sunday so we went to Lins & Glendon's for cake & ice cream. Ever since then Scooter keeps saying, "Mar Mar - Happy!" I can't believe that Mauri is four years old! It seems like just yesterday we were driving up to the hospital in Logan to wait for her to be born! We sure love Mar Mar & we're so happy we could celebrate with her!

Lins, Glendon & Mauri. Lins made the Dora the Explorer cake - she did a great job! It looked awesome and it tasted great too!
Mar Mar got some sprinkles with one of her presents from Nana! She was so nice & shared some with Scooter. She dumped a whole bunch of them out onto the back of her new board game and knelt down to eat them! I thought it was so funny!

Also, I just wanted to add a note: I know several of you have been wondering how Lins & Glendon are doing- and Lins said she's going to update her blog soon! Right now she is just waiting for her camera to make it back from Vermont, since someone (we won't name names, ha ha!) left it there on a business trip!!

Bye Bye Snow!

Scooter loves to be outside, and would probably play outside all day long if he could! We are getting excited for spring and summer so we can spend more time out in the sunshine! But Scooter really, really had fun with the snow. He keeps saying to me "Snow?" and then I tell him that the snow went bye bye! And then he'll tell me "Daddy - snow!" meaning daddy shoveled the snow, and then "Help me! Scooter!" meaning he helped Daddy shovel snow! Here are some cute pics of him playing in the snow at my moms!

He found a stick and carried it around with him the whole time he played outside!
Chillin' with Zoe.
I love this grin on his face! And... he still has the stick! I think when we were done playing in the snow he held the stick up and said "with us?"
Can I just tell you how happy this kiddo makes me?!
