Fall Festival 2009!

We really look forward to the fall festival every year! It's such a fun activity! And this year all of my sisters came with us! Here are Tyler & Aubrey, a.k.a "Medusa."
Happy little punkin' boy! We originally thought Scooter was going to be Elmo for Halloween, but when we tried the hat on him he said he didn't like it. I was afraid he wouldn't want to dress up in a costume, but then he saw the pumpkin suit and he wanted to put it on! We tried it on the night before the party, and the next day he asked all day if it was time to wear his costume yet!
Lindsay - a.k.a Frodo!
"Don't worry Derek, I'll hold your hand & show you where to go!" Aren't cousins great?!
Got a ring pop, yay!
Scooter & his good buddy, Mason!
Lins, Aubs, Erica and Me! I love that my sisters like to dress up! We have so much fun together!!
Two happy kiddos! The day after the party, Scooter told me that he wanted to go to the party again!

Scooter Boy is So Funny!

This kiddo is so cute & fun - he cracks us up all the time!
I just wanted to share a few of the funny things hes done/said in the last few days!

*It was nap time a few days ago & Scooter wanted to lay on the very edge of the bed - I told him he had to move because I didn't want him to fall off the bed. He looked at me and said "That's not one of your jobs!" (ha ha! Lots of time when its time to brush his teeth, I tell him that I have to brush his teeth cause its one of my jobs!!)

*Two weeks ago Scooter & I had this conversation:
Me: "Two more treats (candy corns) & that's all!"
Scooter: "Why?"
Me: "Cause too many treats make your belly feel yucky."
Scooter: "Uh-uh...it makes mine feel yummy!"

*Lately when we go to the park, Derek wants to play basketball with Ry! We were there a few days ago and it was getting dark, so we told him it was time to go. He said: "The lights are on (pointing to the street lights)! Lets play ball!!"

*Scooter often wants to take stuff "with us" when we're going somewhere! It can be anything from his puppy to his phone - or anything else he finds around the house! Last week I guess he wanted to do a bit of "light reading," because he carried the 2nd & 3rd "Lord of the Rings" books with us everywhere! And this week he keeps telling me that he is bringing "Percy Jackson" for me! What a cute, fun, lovable kiddo!!

My Big Huge Helper!

We made cinnamon rolls a few days ago, and Scooter said he wanted to help me. So I let him climb up on the bar and be my helper! He loves when we make anything with bread dough, because he gets to help roll it - and he usually plays with his dough long after our bread is done baking! While he was helping me with the cinnamon rolls, he looked at me & said "I'm your big huge helper!" I had to agree- he is definitely a big helper!!
Rolling/smashing some dough!
He loves to wear his apron from Grama Miyake!

He is such a sweet, sweet little boy - and we just love him so much! He gets his "work ethic" from Ry - he is always wanting to help and work hard, just like his daddy!

It's Time For Halloween!!

I love Halloween! I love decorating for it and dressing up and making fun Halloween foods!! I just bought this new Halloween cookbook (Ghoulish Goodies, by Sharon Bowers) and it is Amazing! I want to try making everything in this book...right now! Last week we tried eyeball meatloaf and ghost potatoes! The eyes on the ghosts are a little bit tiny, but oh well! Everything tasted great & it was fun to make! I think our next project will either be funny bones or swamp creature toes! Yummmmmmm!

Football Players

Last night I found Ry and Scooter studying these names of football players! It was one of the cutest things to hear Scooter repeat the football players names. Ryan looked pretty proud!!

We Love Conference Weekend!

We always enjoy conference weekend! We love being together & listening to the Prophet & the Apostles - it's so uplifting! On Friday I told Scooter that the next day we would get to see President Monson on TV, and on Saturday morning he pointed at the TV & said: "President Monson!" He's so cute, and so smart!

Here are a few fun pictures we took while enjoying conference!

Erica & Ryan: 2 for 1 = strengthening their physical & spiritual muscles at the same time! ha ha!
Happy kiddos - playing together!

Sunday morning - Scooter was very happy that we were headed over to Nanny's house! (that grin makes me happier than just about anything!!)
Conference is always so good, and I felt like this time especially so many of the talks were just for me! I'm excited to read over my notes again, & to read the Ensign when it comes! And to apply the wonderful things I learned!!
